What OS Does InfoGear's iPhone Use?

A google search for "+iphone operating system" reveals this page [rochester.edu] that says the CIDCO iPhone uses JavaOS. It doesn't specifically talk about the InfoGear phone, but they use the same trademarked name. The InfoGear phone appears to be an updated version of the CIDCO product, and both are compared on the specifications [bigplanet.com] page.

Looking at the infogear website (changing the URI from the slashdot post) shows that amongst other positions, they're looking for "Systems Software Engineers" with experience with VxWorks.

If this is true, why no Java applets?

I beleive the page you reference, but what I'm curious about is: if the phones use JavaOS, then why don't they run Java applets?
